James E. Mahfood, Esq. is a Real Estate Attorney, Real Estate Broker and the Owner of MB Realty & Management. As a licensee California lawyer since 1983, his first introduction to real estate was when he was in charge of negotiating and reviewing the legalities of commercial real estate transactions for banks and Savings and Loan Associations. Since 1994 Mr. Mahfood has been licensed as a Real Estate Broker and has been involved primarily in property management, along with assisting individuals and companies in successfully navigating the legal challenges of landlord tenant issues and real estate transactions.
As a licensed and regularly practicing real estate attorney, James Mahfood’s personal knowledge of California real estate law, procedures and litigation are constantly utilized in sales transactions and the management activities of MB Realty. He offers his clients both experience and a practical day to day knowledge of property management, along with the knowledge and insight to mitigate legal issues. He also conscientiously reviews each tenant application and oversees the tenant selection at MB Realty & Management.
Mr. Mahfood’s professionalism, experience and insight into real estate and property management cannot be duplicated. Along with his extensive qualifications, is his higher education: He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from California State University at Los Angeles and his Jurist Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California. He has taught numerous and various classes on Landlord/Tenant issues and residential real estate management.
Rick Brown
Real Estate Agent & Tax Specialist
Rick Brown has over 30 years working in Real Estate and Investments. During that time he has worked in sales and acquisitions of single family homes, condos, multi-family and commercial properties. Early on 1985 Mr. Brown worked in public accounting and passed the CPA exam. The majority of his clients, while in public accounting, were large Commercial and Residential builders and developers. He would help with the analysis and due diligence for each potential project. He would put together the budgets and projections for the loan packages submitted to the lenders. During the course of construction he would help with the loan draws and reconcile the draws with the budgets.
While working for real estate investment and syndication companies, Mr. Brown was responsible for the analysis and budgets of all the companies projects. In the early 1990’s Mr. Brown became the Vice President of real estate, investment and property management for an investment syndication company in Laguna Hills. He was responsible for over 35 properties throughout the Western states.
Since 1994 Mr. Brown has worked with MB Realty in sales and acquisitions of all types of properties. At MB we have been approved by the Orange County Superior Court for probate sales. MB was approved by the Federal Bankruptcy Court for listings of commercial and residential properties. We have helped clients bid on properties at foreclosure auctions and in bankruptcy court. He has worked on Short Sales, Foreclosures and Loan Modifications for various clients. Mr. Brown is a professional, detail-oriented person who works with his clients to create critical mindful decisions.
Michelle Beamish
Senior Property Manager & Real Estate Assistant
Michelle has four years’ experience managing both residential and commercial properties in South Orange County. She heads all aspects of the residential property management including rental collection, and overseeing that any repairs and maintenance are done on a timely basis, in a cost efficient manner and completed accurately. Michelle also handles the full spectrum of the property accounting at MB Realty. She enjoys the tenant interaction and has excellent people skills which helps her in tenant relations, unit marketing and showing, tenant interviews, and in the tenant screening process. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology from California State Long Beach and is getting her Real Estate license. She lives in Mission Viejo with her family and is very involved in her community. Her vast experience, education, professionalism and inherent skills, bring a high level of service to our tenants and owners alike.
